"Together with TATREEZ: The Needlework Project and its sponsor Esperanza Peace & Justice Center"

TATREEZ (lit. "needlwork" in Arabic) is the name of a Texas-based project dedicated to Palestinian art and cultural exchange. TATREEZ was founded by 5 women artists and, in collaboration with the Palestine Children's Welfare Fund and Esperanza Peace & Justice Center, purchases traditional embroidery and carved olive wood directly from Palestinian artists, women's cooperatives and refugee organizations at fair prices.

The purchases provide small but tangible, ongoing support for these individuals and organizations whose ability to trade has been choked off by the Israeli military occupation.
